The Loss of Columbia


After more than 20 years of service, Space Shuttle Columbia disintegrated during re-rentry in the atmosphere, with a crew of seven astronauts on board.

This disaster leaves one problem that the loss of Challenger in 1986 did not create: a crew of 3 astronauts in the International Space Station wondering how they will be brought back. The previous disaster grounded the shuttle fleet for 2 years ... in this case, how will the ISS crew get back ?

 

It may be Russia to the rescue ...
